For public health reasons, authorities recommend to limit the consumption of fat. In 1956, T-fal launched the first non-stick coating cookware, enabling cooking with little to no oil. On top of this nutritional benefit it helps to better preserve the original flavor of food.
Since 2000, T-fal products are equipped with Thermo-Spot® technology which turns full red when the pan is properly preheated. It guarantees perfect texture, perfect color and perfect taste for delicious full-flavored meals every day.
Our researchers work with the constant aim to extend the durability of our coatings so they remain non-stick and safe even after years of intensive cooking.
PTFE or polytetrafluoroethylene is a fluoropolymer. Used in non-stick coatings, it is made up of a chain of thousands of carbon atoms, with two fluorine atoms attached to each carbon atom. This structure gives PTFE a very high chemical inertia, making it harmless to human health, It also makes it exceptionally resistant to high temperature and very “glidable”, providing it with non sticking properties that are ideal for producing a very effective coating for cooking pots and pans.
Groupe SEB always places the wellbeing of its customers at the heart of its concerns. Groupe SEB's absolute priority is to produce safe and highly qualitative products to improve consumers' daily lives. All our products comply with relevant rules established by the federal Food and Drug Administration, including the relevant requirements of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations governing the safe use of product components in contact with food.
California Assembly Bill 1200 ("A.B. 1200") and Colorado House Bill 22-1345 ("H.B. 22-1345") require manufacturers of cookware to disclose the presence of certain chemicals that are intentionally added to the handle of the product or in any product surface that comes into contact with food or beverages. California's A.B. 1200 applies to the chemicals identified on California's Deparment of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) Candidate Chemicals List, while Colorado H.B. 22-1345 applies to PFAS chemicals.
Colorado H.B.22-1345 Disclosure Details:
PTFE coated products contain PFAS chemicals ( polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), perfluoroalkoxy alkane (PFA), fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP)), which are used for their non-stick properties.
California A.B. 1200 Disclosure Details:
The following tables identify the products for which a chemical disclosure is required to comply with A.B. 1200.
